SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA a cultural space that forms part of a city in constant flux, is brought to life by a community of freelancers who come from a broad variety of social and cultural backgrounds. With its focus on transnational forms of expression, it is perhaps no surprise that the majority of the team have come to Berlin from cities and countries all over the world.
Projectionists and writers, translators and cleaners, bar staff and social media managers, each team member brings both a unique perspective on cinema and a shared desire to help create a platform where stories that speak to and expand on their own lived experiences can be seen, heard and shared.
-TOPIAS is a regular screening series collectively curated by the SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA team that centers the diversity of their experiences and interests.
Whether films on the construction of community through shared space or notions of ‘home’ as seen from afar, attempts to grapple with the political superstructures that transform our societies or cinema as temporary refuge, through -TOPIAS the SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA team invites you to reflect on the threads and the films, however fleeting, that bind us to one another in the present moment.
