EQUINOX PART II

Equinox Part II opens the platform to communities and filmmakers from the regions that celebrate Nowrouz and reflects upon the connections between these cultures in the fields of art and cinema. Nowrouz the first day of the new year welcome spoken words by Tanasgol Sabbagh, co-creator of parallelgesellschaft, and Armeghan Taheri, the creator of the magazine Afghan Punk, alongside films chosen by Fidan Films and AG Kurzfilm. The program will close with the film And, Towards happy Alleys by Sreemoyee Singh. Festivities around Nowrouz will be celebrated together on the 20th and 21st of March after the screenings. (AM)

Afsun Moshiry is an Iranian-German Film curator and producer. She has curated Iranian film programs for Berliner Festspiele and Akademie der Künste. She is part of the selection committee for Kasseler Dokfest. Since 2023, she has been a programme advisor at Berlinale Forum.

Hadi Alipanah born in Iran, 1986  is a film critic and journalist. He also has a long history of organizing several short film festivals, curating short film screenings and supervising the production of hundreds of short films.
