Lola und Bilidikid
Kutluğ Ataman, Germany 1998, 95 min. German, Turkish with English subtitles
Renowned BiPOC collective QueerBerg join us in Wedding for a special celebratory evening of film, drag, dance, and music inspired by different Nowruz traditions.
Festivities begin at 19:00 with a screening of Kutluğ Ataman’s classic Lola und Bilidikid, a film which follows Murat, a young closeted man who escapes the judgement of his family to find a new life in Berlin’s Turkish drag subculture.
Following the screening, performer Prince Emrah + special guest will take audiences on a transnational journey through Nowruz traditions: expect drums, drag and a little bit of pyrotechnic magic!
Starting at 21:30, performers Kekik, Sinazz, Rage, Yenny Stark and Prince Emrah will take to the stage for the inaugural QueerBerg Cabaret.
From 23:00 onwards, Dj Masta Sai and Dj Öz will invite everyone to the dance floor to welcome a new day in style: nowruz mobārak!
Festive outfits encouraged!
Tickets 15€ online. A limited number of tickets will be available on the door throughout the evening. Book in advance to avoid disappointment! For Sinema 10X card holders event will cost 2 entries and include access to screening and party.
