Meze is the word for "taste" in some central and west Asian cultures. The Nowruz meze will be a real treat for your senses, with all kinds of Persian food. We will serve Ash-e Anar, a pomegranate stew; Kuku Sabzi, a herbal dish; and kashk-e bademjan, an aubergine dish, with yoghurt dips accompanied by special gin-flavoured longdrinks.

The collaborative endeavours of Hoda Taheri and Boris Hadzija, in their capacities as writers, directors and producers, have culminated in a series of films that have garnered considerable plaudits. The titles Mother Prays All Day Long, As if Mother Cried That Night and Mother is a Natural Sinner stand as a testament to the duo's artistic prowess and the crew they work with. Themes of gender liberation, the transition from one culture to another and the pursuit of passion, offering a multifaceted perspective on contemporary living conditions are explored. The films premiered three times in succession at the Locarno Film Festival. Here, they will be screened together as the Trilogy for the first time. (AM)
Hoda Taheri is an Iranian filmmaker based in Berlin. Her debut feature film, I'll Plant My Hands in the Garden, is currently in the development stage. It is a co-direction project with Boris Hadžija and was selected by Locarno Residency in 2023.
Boris Hadžija is a Serbian filmmaker and musician born in 1990 in Yugoslavia and currently living in Berlin.
