Los Delincuentes

Román and Morán, two weary bank employees living in Buenos Aires, yearn to escape their mundane routines. Morán concocts a cunning scheme to pilfer the equivalent of their combined wages from the bank until retirement. Yet, despite its apparent ingenuity, the plot is fraught with pitfalls as it entails Morán to serve a three-year prison sentence and Román to conceal the stolen funds. 

Through a subversive narrative structure and heady balance of comedy and electrifying drama, Los Delincuentes is a clever reworking of the heist genre that ultimately reveals itself to be a meditation on the restrictions of life under capitalism. (BH)
