[BL]Action!

The Black Film Festival

The first edition of the [BL]Action! film festival, initiated by Each One Teach One (EOTO) and network partners, focuses on Black cinema as a means of empowerment, action, and knowledge production. It combines film screenings with discussions and masterclasses on history, production, and reception. Special recognition is given to the fathers and mothers of African cinema, whose works paved the way for today's transnational perspectives. The festival will show empowering, intersectional films across genres that critically examine colonialism, racism, and power. Resistance and resilience are the overarching themes, and the anti-colonial theorist Frantz Fanon will be honored on the occasion of his 100th birthday. (EOTO)
