Himala

A film that follows a young woman living in the rural province in the Philippines who claims to have seen the apparition of Mary Mother of Jesus. Made during the Ferdinand Marcos authoritarian regime, the film can be seen as a subtle reading of the mass hysteria of the times by highlighting the region's long history with Catholicism and colonialism.
