Six films in which the knowledge production and networking that Forum Lenteng have undertaken for the past 20 years find form, with each one offering a different visual experiment that explores how Indonesian vernacular culture intertwines with geopolitics. From Automobile factory workers who break up the monotony of their day through morning exercises to a group of children who gather in front of a camera, a young farmer kidnapped from a rice field to the mysteries and myths carried by the glittering Ciliwung river, the cohabitation of crocodiles and humans living within the red zone (tsunami-prone) to the echoes of European colonialism through the work of a botanist, each film creatively uses cinematic technologies to question the legacy of colonialism and the impact of late capitalism on the region.
