In this workshop, we will take a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at film cultural/film curatorial practice and working environments. What discrimination, hierarchisation and biases come to bear when works by non-white filmmakers are programmed and shown? What do BIPoC experience in working groups and contexts with white colleagues? How do BIPoC deal with discriminatory structures and experiences in a film cultural context?
A workshop for people who define themselves as BIPoC: in this setting, participants can exchange their experiences in white-dominated programming work without the participation of white people. Are there tools for dealing with racist structures and experiences that can be shared? How can alliances be formed and promoted among each other? What do we want/demand from white colleagues in film-cultural work contexts and what needs to change structurally? (DG+FH+GB)
The number of participants is limited to 15-20 people.
The workshop will be held in English and German.
