Every year, the most talented law students from across the African continent gather to compete at the African Human Rights Moot Competition, Africa’s largest mock court competition. To win the trophy for their country, these aspiring lawyers act as both prosecution and defense in a fictional and cutting-edge human rights court case. African Moot goes on a journey with four passionate student law teams from Cape Town, Cairo, Kampala and Nairobi as they spend months preparing for a case dealing with refugee rights. Traveling to Botswana, the film tracks their progress through various events and competition rounds, leading to a dramatic finale before international judges at the country’s highest court.
