Deep in the Moroccan desert, two men search for celestial bodies. In the country’s southeast, the landscape, characterised by its immeasurable vastness, is known for meteorite impacts. Mohamed, a nomad who lives with his family in the desert, sets out to find the valuable stones to free himself from poverty. Abderrahmane, on the other hand, studies meteorite fragments from a scientific perspective. Although the two men never meet, they seem to be in dialogue with each other. In his directorial debut, which premiered during the 2022 Locarno international film festival, Adnane Baraka traces, with captivating images, existential and philosophical reflections on the meaning of being human.
