Four short films that deal with the big questions and problems of growing up: In Mr. Bold, a Nigerian boy tries to connect with his older brother by rebelling against the mosque in his neighborhood. We accompany young Astel and her father in their peaceful everyday life in northern Senegal, which is torn apart at the seams by an encounter with a young shepherd. In Awa, 12-year-old Divine helps her mother at night working at a Kinshasa market to raise money to attend school, and in Mirror Mirrorwe accompany Luthando as she sensually explores her own body.

Sandulela Asanda is a graduate of the AFDA Film School in Cape Town. She is also a graduate of the Locarno Film Festival's BaseCamp, the Durban FilmMart and the Realness African Screenwriters' Residency. She is currently writing her feature debut Black Burns Fast.
