In Salomé, the lines between reality and fantasy blur as Cecília, a successful model, returns to her hometown of Recife for Christmas and is drawn into a hypnotic and mysterious world. A chance encounter with João, a long-lost neighbor, leads her to a mind-altering green substance and a secret cult devoted to Salomé, the extravagant biblical princess. What unfolds is a feverish journey through love, desire, and obsession, where the boundaries of identity, genre, and cinematic convention are pushed to their limits. Bold, provocative, and deeply playful, it pays homage to Hollywood’s grand storytelling traditions while reinventing them with queer and trans bodies at the center. The result is a film that is both thrillingly accessible and radically subversive. With its electrifying style, rich soundtrack, and fearless imagination, Salomé is a hallucinatory, intoxicating ride, destined to ignite passion, conversation, and, most of all, a belief in the wild magic of cinema.
