Analog Filmmaking

With Destina Atasayar, Daniel Beschareti and WIB e.V. (Wir im Brunnenviertel)

In this multi-day workshop, young people aged 15–21 will explore Berlin's Wedding district from their own perspective using the analog 16mm Bolex camera. Following the tradition of the film diary, we will shoot in a documentary style with subtle observations and a purposely reduced approach. We will approach analog filmmaking through hands-on experience with analog film, joint viewing of film examples, and a technical introduction to the Bolex camera.

The workshop starts on April 2. (13:00–18:00). In the following days, a date will be arranged to shoot with the 16mm Bolex camera in Wedding. On April 11. (13:00–17:30), we will view the analog footage together as a 16mm print. We also plan a concluding screening with a celebratory closing on May 13. at SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA! (Destina Atasayar, Daniel Beschareti)

The workshop is free of charge and limited to a maximum of 12 participants (ages 15–21). Participation ONLY with registration via: anmeldung@wib-jugend.de
