Several months after Jesús set out on foot for the U.S. from a rural town in Guanajuato, his mother Magdalena lost contact with him. Determined to unravel his fate, Magdalena soon finds herself on an increasingly surreal journey to uncover the truth, one that leads her into a labyrinthine crime network. While closure remains in the hands of the powerful, Magdalena's path fortuitously converges with that of Miguel, a young man recently deported from the U.S. who is not unlike her son. Moving between restraint and magical realism, Sin Señas Particulares (Identifying Features) is an impressive feature debut, a cry of rage on behalf of the people who suffer the violence, corruption and vast market forces imposed by their northern neighbour.

The menu features sweet-bitter-savory woku dish and rice with sambal matah (chilli and co), as well as baked tempeh, tofu and polenta with a balado sauce (no animal products).
