For the upcoming edition on 17. May, poet and front-of-house host Rodrigo Aguilera invites you to a screening of Álvaro Delgado-Aparicio L.’s tender and devastating debut feature Retablo, followed by a poetic performance at and live music by Facundo Velis Pintos, Manuel González, Luis Gato Lincheo, and Yanara Zahri.
Set in a remote village in the Peruvian Andes, Retablo follows 14-year-old Segundo, whose relationship with his father and role model Noé is profoundly shaken after discovering a secret that threatens both family and belonging within a deeply patriarchal community.
Rodrigo S. Aguilera was born in Buenos Aires in 1989: “During my theatrical debut at 3 years old, I destroyed my costume and sat on the edge of the stage crying. I changed the name of the school’s newspaper by mistake. I started traveling but the pandemic stranded me in Berlin. Poetry saves me all the time.” Rodrigo is part of the team at SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA.
