Deconstructing Narratives: postmigrantische, queer-feministische und diasporische Perspektiven im deutschen Film

Lamin Leroy Gibba, Thùy Trang Nguyễn, Faraz Shariat and Letícia Milano, in conversation with Nastaran Tajeri-Foumani

Who tells our stories – and who decides which narratives are made visible? How can we remain steadfast and tell our own stories in a system that constantly tries to co-opt us and press us into standardised categories? In this panel, we take a critical look at post-migrant, queer-feminist and diasporic perspectives in German film. With guests such as Lamin Leroy Gibba, Thùy Trang Nguyễn, Faraz Shariat and Letícia Milano, we will discuss how we, as queer, post-migrant subjects, can tell our stories without reproducing the heteronormative and cis-sexist structures of the mainstream. What possibilities do queer narrative practices offer us to decentralise not only stories, but also the act of storytelling itself? And how can we use cinema as a place of liberation and self-empowerment in resistance to dominant narratives? (Nastaran Tajeri-Foumani)
