Shame and Money

After their livelihood is stolen, dairy farmers Shaban and Hatixhe leave their rural home with their three daughters and move to Pristina, hoping to rebuild their lives. The city, however, offers little security: work is precarious, money is never enough, and every gesture of support carries the weight of dependence and humiliation.

As Shaban takes on increasingly difficult jobs to provide for his family, his struggle becomes about more than money. In a world where dignity is measured by the ability to earn, even kindness can feel like an insult. Visar Morina observes this unraveling with remarkable restraint, allowing tension to build through the small negotiations of everyday life. The result is a stark and deeply human social drama about work, masculinity, family and the quiet violence of economic precarity.
