Ariane Boréal, the wealthiest woman in France, escapes from her family, who have locked her up after an incident with a gigolo. With her long-time African chauffeur Aristide, she wanders through Paris, beginning a hallucinatory journey between reality and imagination. For the first time, Ariane truly engages with Aristide, discovering his stories, faith, and African heritage. Drawn into a mystical experience blending African rituals, food, and palm wine, Ariane reconnects with her late father and finds a symbolic resolution to her family conflict. This surreal adventure, where Africa becomes both refuge and revelation, culminates in Ariane retaining control of her empire—yet leaves open the question: is this truly her story, or an African one?
