In Kaduna, Nigeria, a city whose namesake crocodiles have nearly vanished, a group of young filmmakers called The Critics build handmade sci-fi worlds with sewn-together green screens and neighborhood casts. Shot across 13 years, Crocodile follows brothers Raymond, Ronald, Richard Yusuff, Godwin, and Victor Josiah as they transform isolation into imagination. Co-directed with award-winning filmmaker Pietra Brettkelly, the film captures their raw, restless energy: political debates, moments of doubt, and the joyful determination to create the future they want to see, one homemade spectacle at a time.
