Love can return in unexpected forms: a gesture, a song, a face. Or, as in the darkly funny directorial debut from Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, a household appliance. After dying from the effects of air pollution, Nat returns to her grieving husband March as a ghost inhabiting a vacuum cleaner. While March embraces this strange reunion, his family, who run an appliance factory, struggle to accept this ghostly presence that quietly demands recognition as both partner and labourer.

Balancing surreal humour with melancholic tenderness, Boonbunchachoke’s debut feature transforms the ghost story into a playful yet biting reflection on productivity, grief, and belonging. As Nat attempts to prove herself as a “useful” spirit, the film drifts between the absurd and the domestic, questioning systems that measure worth through function while imagining love that persists beyond the usual limits of body, work, and death.
