乘船而去

Jin, an aged mother living alone in a village in Southern China, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. After finding out, her daughter Jenny, who runs an overseas education consultant in Shanghai and is suffering from her second divorce, insists on finding the best treatment for Jin. However, Jenny’s younger brother Qing, who works as a tourist guide, believes in fate and encourages the family to embrace this harsh reality. Accompanied by her family, Jin spends her final days seeking her spiritual “destination”. Meanwhile, Jenny and Qing realize they should reconsider the relationship between themselves and their homeland. A poetic rendering of the ways in which time flies and things change but the village remains beside the river to witness each farewell. (CiLENS)
