Black Asian Screen Solidarity

Workshop

Registration until 25.09.2024 here

We are excited to invite you to our Black Asian Screen Solidarity event. This event is all about Black and Asian solidarities in German film and television. Where and how do we appear in German film history? How can we learn from each other and create synergies? The 2-day workshop will be led by Kaddi Wandaogo, Vika Gurina, Dieu Hao Do (BAFNET). You can expect film screenings, keynote speeches with discussions and community building. The goal is to reflect on positions in a society that is seen as racist and to promote solidarity between marginalized communities in German film.

Who can take part?
Participation is aimed at people between the ages of 18-99 who position themselves as Black, Afro-German, Asian or Asian-German.

Procedure:
The event begins with a short film evening (02.10.2024 20:00) with films from Black and Asian communities. Following the short films, the filmmakers will give an insight into their work and discuss diversity and inclusion in German film.
The next day (03.10.2024 11:00-18:00) will be the workshop with keynote and panel on the representation of Black and Asian people in German film history, as well as community building and a joint lunch.

The Workshop will be held in German.
