Ceyhun Kaya feat. Uygur Vural

HANE Salon, a series of live concerts, listening sessions, and culinary interventions that take place in the cozy foyer of SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA, warmly invites you to an evening with multi-instrumentalist Ceyhun Kaya supported by cellist Uygur Vural.

For the first concert in Berlin under his own name, multi-instrumentalist Ceyhun Kaya brings his voice into a rich melodic geography that stretches from Anatolia to the Caucasus and from there opens up to other languages and traditions. At the heart of his repertoire are songs in Turkish, interwoven with traces of Ladino, Afghan melodies, and other voices from the region. At his side is cellist Uygur Vural, who will sometimes act as accompaniment and sometimes as counter-voice.

Hosted in the cozy foyer space, aka HANE, while Kaya and Vural play, guests are welcome to enjoy delicious meze plates which will be available throughout the evening.

Ceyhun Kaya is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist whose freely improvisational style connects traditions from Anatolia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and Southeastern Europe with influences from rebetiko and the repetitive music of Philip Glass and Steve Reich.

Uygur Vural is a Berlin-based cellist, composer, and sound artist, born in Antalya. He performs internationally as a soloist and in numerous collaborations, and develops long-term projects on acoustic ecology, urban soundscapes, and underwater sound.
