A wealthy married businessman picks up a young hitchhiker, Elsie, at the side of the road. The two begin an affair at his weekend house where he passes her off as his niece. Then Elsie meets and falls for a young local man who wants to plan a future with her. A dangerous love triangle ensues in which desire, deceit and, ultimately, a death raise the stakes. The three protagonists in this suspense-laden Finnish film noir are playing a risky game in which no one is fully laying their cards on the table.

Mikko Kuutti studied architecture and specialized in building conservation and restoration. He researched film cold storage in his master’s thesis and is fascinated by the chemistry and technology of celluloid.
