An action-packed adaptation of Huanzhulouzhu’s novel ‘Legend of the Swordsmen of the Mountains of Shu’: The master swordsman Ting-yin has been possessed by the Blood Demon. His disciple Ti Min-chi, young monk I-chen and a disciple of the countess of the fort manage to escape Ting’s attack. Together, they embark on a journey to visit the powerful Li I-chi and ask her to save the people.

Tsui Hark, pioneer of the Hong Kong New Wave, delves into the world of wuxia and fantasy for this film. For the impressive visual effects, he was able to recruit specialists who had worked on ‘Star Wars’ (1977). (FR)
