The Cinema-ye Azad movement existed in over 20 cities in Iran between 1969 and 1979. Since Hadi Alapanah’s presentation as part of Archival Assembly #2, recordings from the last Cinema-ye Azad festival have emerged. Alapanah played these recordings to participants to capture their memories. Silent fragments of films by Syrian director Youssef Fahdeh, part of the Baalbeck archive, were also screened last year. This time, producer Mohamed Soueid will provide live commentary.
