Followed by a talk with guests, moderated by Erol Yıldız (in German)
The Council for Migration's annual conference opens with a special evening at SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA: reception, film and discussion. Fatih Akin's classic We Forgot to Return will be shown – a cinematic reminder of the realities of migrant life, new beginnings and vulnerabilities. Together with guests, we invite you to exchange ideas, pause for reflection and discuss. A kick-off that combines cinema, politics and a post-migrant attitude. (JD)
Erol Yıldız, Professor of Education with a focus on migration and education at the University of Innsbruck, has been researching educational processes in migrant societies for many years, including post-migration, diversity, urbanity and transnational realities of life.
The Annual Conference of the Council for Migration presents a three day program of film, theatre, readings, panels and debates devoted to post-migration – as an attitude, a memory and a future perspective. Between science, art and activism, Berlin will be discussing the voices and experiences that shape society but are often overlooked.
