An evening dedicated to the lives and struggles of plural (LGBTIQ+) people in Guatemala. Organized by Voces de Guatemala Berlín, the event features screenings of Ixim (El amor no tiene género), a documentary about Maya-Q’eqchi’ trans activist Mónica Chub Caal, and Temblores, a drama exploring faith, sexuality, and repression in Ciudad de Guatemala. A discussion with members from Resistencia Plural Jalanil A'j Q'eqchi' will follow, alongside a fundraiser supporting their work.

Voces de Guatemala en Berlín is a migrant political collective connected to Iximulew (Guatemala) that maintains a living memory and active connection with civil society collectives and resistant communities in Guatemala, and participates in local struggles.

Resistencia Plural Jalanil A'j Q'eqchi' is made up of plural Maya Q’eqchi and Poqomchi people. Their struggle is rooted in the defense of life and territory, guided by ancestral cosmogonic principles and resistance to patriarchal violence in Guatemala.

Mónica Chub Caal is an activist and defender of the rights of plural (LGBTIQ) Indigenous peoples from the Q’eqchi territory.

Chahim A'jam Vásquez Leal is a Q’eqchi’ healer (sanadora) and defender of the rights of Indigenous and racialized peoples in Guatemala.
