Khuê Phạm was born in Berlin to Vietnamese parents. Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai grew up in Vietnam in the period after the war. How have their experience shaped their writing? How do they view Vietnam today? A personal conversation and reading moderated by Thị Minh Huyền Nguyễn. (English)

Khuê Phạm is a journalist for ZEITmagazin and a writer. Her debut novel, “Wo auch immer ihr seid” (Brothers and Ghosts), was inspired by her Vietnamese family and adapted as a dance theater production called KIM.

Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai is an award-winning Vietnamese writer who gained international recognition with “The Mountains Sing” (Der Gesang der Berge). In Berlin, she will present her new novel, “Dust Child” (Wo die Asche blüht).
