Frantz Fanon, a psychiatrist and one of the greatest innovators of postcolonial theory, from Martinique, was appointed chief physician at the psychiatric hospital in Blida (Algeria) in 1953. He introduces innovative, humanistic methods – against the resistance of his colonial-minded colleagues. His work arouses the interest of the FLN, and Fanon becomes part of the liberation struggle. A compelling biopic about an icon of anti-colonial resistance during the Algerian crisis. (EOTO)
