Clashing Differences

Merle Grimme, Germany 2023, 72 Min., German with English subtitles

Followed by a talk with Merle Grimme, Thelma Buabeng and Sheri Hagen

At times loud and furious, at times quiet and vulnerable: Clashing Differences by Merle Grimme is a sharp feminist satire that also dives into drama. Her graduation film places marginalized perspectives at the center, exposing struggles around identity, power, and participation. With keen awareness of social debates and cinematic craft, Grimme creates a layered work that moves, provokes, and invites reflection on the mechanisms of our attention economy. (EOTO)
