AMAN AMAN Berlin three-day festival opens with a performance by Perperúna Ensemble, a Berlin-based choir that brings Balkan polyphonic singing traditions to contemporary audiences. UNDER THE TABLE, a multidimensional installation by artist Viron Erol Vert and students from the Spatial Strategies program at the Berlin Weissensee Academy of Art, will explore the moments of conviviality based on the transnational meze culture and its rituals. Duo PAYE will be joined by Korhan Erel and Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu for a concert that weaves traditional Anatolian sounds with electronic, jazz and folk influences. AMAN AMAN Shorts I brings together five films that circle absence, fracture, and inheritance across the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond. To round off the evening, Greek DJ, curator and radio host Dimitra Zina will take us on a soulful trip through jazz, funk and disco sounds, with references to both sides of the Aegean sea.
Drinks, snacks and meze plates will be available from SİNEMA HANE throughout the day.
