Curated by Josephine Apraku and Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç
“How does literature change when writing and reading take place at the kitchen table?” ask Josephine Apraku and Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç in the new reading series ALL YOU CAN READ.
For the third edition, they welcome authors Ciani-Sophia Hoeder and Aida Baghernejad for drinks to discuss texts, memories, family influences, and political issues, all with their mouths full!
The table is set, be our guests!

The Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion supports all events in the ALL YOU CAN READ reading series.
Ciani-Sophia Hoeder is an author, journalist and foodie. While she eats, she thinks about her next meal – and about why food is political. She writes about class, power and pop culture, works as an editor at ZDF Digital and is currently on a reading tour with her latest non-fiction book, Ökorassismus (Eco-racism).
Aida Baghernejad is a freelance journalist and presenter in Berlin. She writes and speaks about music, literature, film and gastronomy for media outlets such as Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Musikexpress, taz. die Tageszeitung, Der Tagesspiegel and The Guardian.
Josephine Apraku is an African studies scholar and writer. Among their friends and family, Josephine is known as a reliable source of excellent food. The kitchen table is Josephine’s workplace and laboratory. This is where their writing takes shape – often late at night or early in the morning, in the gaps between everyday life.
Ozan Zakaryia Keskinkılıç holds a PhD in political science, is an author and an amateur cook. In his writing, Keskinkılıç explores cooking and eating as social practices situated at the intersection of political, cultural and religious contexts. In addition to essays, columns, prose and poetry, he writes radio plays and theatre pieces – and, one day, a cookbook.
