NAZA

Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor, Vereinigtes Königreich 2026, 80 Min., Hebräisch, Englisch mit englischen Untertitel

NAZA: the acronym for Nezek Agavi, meaning “collateral damage”, is a term used by Israeli military officials to describe civilian casualties in Gaza. In the latest documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the filmmakers behind No Other Land, the rooftops of Tel Aviv become the backdrop for a series of anonymous interviews with disillusioned Israeli intelligence officers and personnel.

With their faces obscured and voices digitally altered, they describe the vast system of surveillance encompassing Gaza and its population and the role AI plays in decisions about whom to target.

Focusing on the testimonies of the perpetrators rather than the stories of those targeted, NAZA forms a damning indictment of our dystopian present: one in which technologised warfare is enabled by wider structures of complicity surrounding the genocide in Gaza.
