A Mother’s Day Celebration of Andean Women

On Mother's Day, Ecuamig@s presents a celebration dedicated to all the matriarchs who nurtured, sowed and harvested the worlds on which we stand to continue their legacy.

The film Warmi Pachakutik, which tells the story of four young women who are redefining femininity from the lens of andean cosmoexistence through activism and art, will be screened.

After the screening, Inti Yaku will offer a performance of Andean music in homage to the Andean mother, from Berlin. There will also be a delicious menestra for sale to accompany this encounter. (EM)

Inti Yaku is a project that proposes to revitalize Ecuadorian music in an international context, exploring and adapting traditional melodies and giving them a new air. Formed by Aude Boucher, Fernando Velasco and Washo Valenzuela.

Ecuamig@s is an Ecuadorian diaspora initiative founded by Consuelo Benavides and Willy Conterón. For over a decade, they have promoted Ecuadorian culture in Berlin’s public spaces while providing community support. They are also the organizers of the annual A mi lindo Ecuador festival, a vibrant celebration of tradition.
